My mom called this morning from Indiana to see if we were still here. Thank you Lord that we suffered no damage. There are some trees down around town and power out in places (probably restored by now), but nothing too major for us here in Northwest Georgia. Our prayers are going out to those who were hit harder. We had power out for a few hours in the wee hours this morning, I heard that some further south will not have power for a month! I moved here from Indiana, this is as far south as I think I want to move.

Butterfly
I just love butterflies! They are so beautiful. This one landed on the outside window ledge at work. She just sat there and sat there so I couldn’t pass up the photo opportunity. She was moving her wings, then it almost seemed as if she was posing for me.
)
I watched her walk around a bit and she reminded me of an airplane getting ready to take off. Almost awkward because of her wings. Then I though, those big wings must be very awkward to maneuver at times. But oh to be so beautifully awkward.

Happy Anniversary to Us!
Friday, August 19th was our 5th Wedding Anniversary! 5 whole years with my wonderful, darling Hubby! I got the sweetest card, a beautiful locket and a huge griddle.
) He said he wanted to get me something sentimental and something that I wanted and could use. I know, some people may think a griddle is a terrible anniversary gift, but I think it’s perfect. I have told him from the beginning that I am not the type that would be offended by a blender for an anniversary gift. I can’t wait to get a picture for my locket! I just got the griddle last night and cooked Quesadillas for supper, I love it!!! I have such a wonderful, sweet hubby.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh my goodness, the other day one of my worst fears came true in Walmart! I was bending over to look at some plastic storage containers on the bottom shelf and all of a sudden, my back catches! So here I am bent over trying not to fall into the shelves, wondering what the heck I am going to do! Well I just stood there bent over and acted like I was looking at the stuff on the shelves. Every time I moved, my back would catch and every muscle in my body would tighten up. Well, I was finally able to stand up and get my cart and support myself with it. So I walked very slowly acting like I was looking at the stuff on the shelves and jerking ever so slightly on occassion when my back would catch without warning. Well I was able to pay for my stuff and walk very slowly across the parking lot to my car. Then I had to go get Heather at the Library! Well, I did ok driving except I felt every bump and turn. When I pulled into the library I heard my cell phone ring, guess where it was? In the floor on the passenger side, slid all the way to the front because my purse had dumped! Well I slowly reached for it and of course as soon as I grabbed it, it stopped ringing. It was Heather and she was leaving me a message that the library was closing and wanted to know where I was. My plan was to wait until it closed (only 5 minutes from the time I pulled in) so that I wouldn’t have to try to get out of the car. Well, there was a kid in there taking extra long and she decided to stay inside as long as he did so she wouldn’t have to wait outside by herself. It was 6:05 when she came out. When I explained to her what had happened she cracked up laughing. It really was funny, even at the time that it was happening. Scary and painful, but funny.

Hummingbird
This little hummingbird just flew into our window at work. We thought he was dead because his head was cocked around funny and his wings were all spread out. The FedEx guy got him up on the wall and put his wings right. Soon after he started to move his little head and finally was sitting up. We took lots of pictures (most of mine didn’t turn out). I nudged him a little with a piece of paper and he finally flew off. He probably wished we would leave him alone. Isn’t he adorable?

I know, I know…..
I have not posted for quite a while. Well, here goes.
Monday we were supposed to go to the airport to pick Heather up at 5pm so I took a vacation day so I could go. Well, we got a call about9am or so (I don’t remember exactly what time) and she had missed her flight. =:oO Her mom put her on a plane to Portland where she had to wait for one of three stand by flights that would take her to Dallas and then on to Nashville. Heather called at about 11:30am to let us know that she was waiting in Portland on one of these three flights and would call us when she got to Dallas to let us know when she would be in Dallas. I told her if she didn’t get on the first flight to call and let us know, she didn’t hear that part. We didn’t know what was going on until she walked up to us at the airport at 9:30pm (10:30pm our time, so alsmost 12 hours after we heard from her). She didn’t make it on any of the three flights she was waiting for and ended up on a flight to Chicago then Nashville. We left for the airport about 5:45pm our time because they stuck her bags on the first flight out of Portland so her bags would be in Nashville whether she was or not. She said she didn’t call us because when she got to Chicago there was only enough time to get to her next flight.

I know Dad isn’t looking forward to her next flight(neither am I).
